Over 50 years of experience, but with ancestral know-how Our palm grove is located in Biskra, Algeria, considered the best terroir for the queen of dates: Deglet Nour. We are passionate about introducing the world to this highly energetic fruit with its sweet, juicy flavor and almost translucent appearance. To offer you unique quality and taste throughout the year, SED OASIS practices sustainable farming, minimizing treatments by using organic rather than chemical fertilizers. This ensures you enjoy fresh dates of guaranteed optimal quality. Dates are produced once a year after summer, between October and November. To preserve the unique and distinctive flavor of the Deglet Nour variety, water, sunshine, and natural fertilizer (sheep and rooster manure) are all that is needed for the fruit to ripen. The dates are then harvested and sorted by hand with meticulous care. Since the 17th century, our family has cultivated dates of all varieties on the lands of Biskra in Algeria. It was around 1850 that the Deglet Nour variety began to be produced on this land. Recognizing its exceptional qualities, no other variety has been grown on these lands since then. Date production at that time was solely intended to meet the nutritional needs of families for the year. It could also be bartered for other foodstuffs if necessary. Today, thanks to the know-how passed down from generation to generation in respect of traditions and cultures, we wish to democratize the Deglet Nour and let you discover the authentic taste of this tasty fruit considered one of the oldest cultivated fruits.
